The I-Rec Standard Foundation’S Inaugural Conference Took Place In Bangkok
The I-REC Standard Foundation’s inaugural conference took place in Bangkok, Thailand on 1 and 2 November with more than three hundred delegates attending the conference from over forty-five different countries.
Prior to the conference, on Monday, 31 October, over two hundred individuals turned up to attend the three pre-conference sessions.
The I-REC Standard Conference (ISC) 2022, titled “Standardizing Global Attribute Markets,” started on Tuesday 1 November with the introductory, keynote session. The ISC 2022 offered an engrossing program with 40+ knowledgeable, industry-leading speakers. The speakers shared their experience and views on the latest attribute tracking market information and practices around the world including developments with the I-REC for electricity, as well as new and upcoming products, changing government policies, and industry perspectives and included speakers from large energy end-consumers, I-REC market facilitators, research institutes, NGOs, and government organizations.
Next to the conference sessions, the ISC 2022 offered excellent networking opportunities through more informal conference events: the Get Together sponsored by ACT Commodities on 31 October at Above Eleven and the dinner party sponsored by Platinum Sponsor, ReAcc, which took place at a breathtaking location, rooftop bar Spectrum on 1 November. Both social events were a great success with over 200 conference delegates in attendance at each. These social events provided delegates the chance to meet and network in a more casual setting while enjoying excellent food, drinks, and conversations.
The ISC 2022 closed Wednesday afternoon, 2 November, with an announcement for the next I-REC Standard Conference to take place in 2023. We look back on a very successful first conference, reinforced by the positive responses we received during and after the conference. And look forward to starting the preparations for the 2023 edition.
